Testimonials

Dr. Boisvert has been a critical factor in both helping me to maintain an athletic career at a high level, as well as my continued levels of activity. I came to Dr. Boisvert in high school with acute back pain related to rowing, which he was able to help me eliminate. Regular visits helped me to continue competing for four years on the Varsity Crew team at Harvard University, as well as to row with the US National Team afterwards (including competing at the 2012 Olympics). I ended my rowing career in part due to intense knee pain which kept me from running and rowing – but Dr. Boisvert has helped me return to rowing, running, and cycling through both ART and Graston Technique over the past ten years. Although I no longer live in Boston, I still make it a point to see Dr. Boisvert whenever I am back in town, and am incredibly grateful for his support, treatment, and friendship over close to 15 years! I strongly recommend Dr. Boisvert to anyone who suffers from back pain, joint pain, or other discomfort stemming from acute and over-use injuries.

I am an avid platform tennis (“paddle”) player which because of its playing surface is a particularly tough sport on the body. I went through two meniscus repairs to the same knee the past two years both which required six months to recover from. After the second tear and surgery, I was skeptical I’d ever play paddle again given how diligent I had been about rehab/physical therapy after the first surgery. A fellow paddle player, who is also a patient of Dr Boisvert’s, recommended I see Dr Boisvert (who in addition to being an avid runner, biker, swimmer… also plays paddle!).

I’ve seen Dr Boisvert for over a year now and have returned to playing paddle again. (As an aside, I think that’s done as much for my mental health as it has for my physical well being). The only thing I’ve done differently this recovery vs last is seeing Dr Boisvert every week. I’m convinced that his expertise at graston (breaking down scar tissue, increasing blood flow to affected areas, reshaping/retraining muscles) has been the difference in my recovery.

I’m 53 years old with a history of knee, calf and achilles issues. I plan on seeing Dr Boisvert regularly for as long as I want to continue playing sports that take a toll on the body. I recommend Dr Boisvert to all of my paddle peers.

-Amin Khadduri, American Platform Tennis Association - CEO

I was referred to Dr. Boisvert in the summer of 2020 by my platform tennis partner for right hip pain related to a ruptured disc that has plagued me for the past 16 years. Years of high level tennis and training, starting as a junior and continuing through both a collegiate and professional career, have taken a toll on my body.  At the beginning of last platform tennis season, I did not think I would be able to play the 2020-2021 season. The care I received at Bedford Chiropractic not only allowed me to continue my daily work on court as a racquets professional, but also allowed me to compete and succeed on the platform tennis court—defending my 2019 title and winning the 2020 APTA National Championship with my partner. Dr. Boisvert understands how to work with clients who perform at a high level and are dependent on their physical fitness and mobility for their job performance. I continue regular visits with Dr. Boisvert for maintenance when feeling healthy and strong. I highly recommend Bedford Chiropractic for both acute treatment and regular maintenance.

I've been rowing for 8 years, starting in high school and continuing at a Harvard University and on the Under-23 National Team. I first approached Dr. Boisvert in high school after experiencing lower back pains bad enough to prevent me from walking. He resolved that problem quickly, and his expertise has allowed me to quickly overcome problems as they arise. this has allowed me to continue to train and compete at an elite level that might not have been open to me because of my injuries.

-Alex N.

Dr. Boisvert has been a game changer for me. I train for long course triathlons including half and full Ironmans. So the volume and consistency of the workouts are pretty intense. I put a lot of demands on my body to say the least. I had been struggling with nagging running injuries for years, particularly pain in my feet and Achilles. While being sidelined from running for a few months every year waiting for symptoms to subside, I sought other types of treatment from acupuncture to massage to ART and nothing was truly solving the issues. Finally I started seeing Dr. Boisvert for treatment. Best investment ever. He was able to quickly assess what was going on and recommend a plan of action. He explained what was happening in laymen's terms so I always felt well-informed. With his super refined Graston work combined with spine adjustments, icing, ancillary strength exercises and patience, the years of damage have honestly been undone and I have been running without pain in my feet for more than a year now. As an athlete himself, he understands the motivation of people who train and how much we love what we do. So he knows to advise when to back off and give something time to heal, but also when it's actually safe to continue to train while continuing treatment. Throughout training, other smaller imbalances have come up, that's just the nature of endurance sports. But I barely think twice about anything because I know that he's in my corner and can work with me through them. I trust his knowledge and craft.

My high school lacrosse team refers to Dr. Boisvert as the "miracle man". It seems as if everything he touches heals remarkably quickly. Dr. Boisvert has worked on me, as well as many other members of my team, to help us get back on the field after a performance-affecting injury. In the Spring of 2012, I strained the ligaments in my shoulder. I was told that this injury would keep me from playing in the remainder of our playoff games because it affected my passing and shooting. Naturally, this was the last thing I wanted to hear. Fortunately, Dr. Boisvert worked his "magic" and I was back on the field in a matter of days, not weeks. Many of my teammates share similar stories about Dr. Boisvert's miracle work as well. Because of Dr. Boisvert, my teammates and I have returned to the field much faster than previously anticipated. I cannot imagine where our team would be without the "miracle man". I highly recommend Dr. Boisvert to any athlete looking to make a quick recovery from a field injury.

I initially went to Dr. Boisvert in July of 2010 to help with my knee. I heard he used chiropractic adjustments for knee injuries, a technique that had proven helpful to me in the past. Little did I know, he would end up doing much more not only for my knee, but also for my neck and back. His combined use of the Graston Technique, chiropractic adjustments, and other techniques (that I can't remember the names of), has been truly amazing. At first I had 3-6 appointments per month, but after a few months I reduced my visits to once every 6 weeks for a tune up. Before my "Dr. Boisvert" life, I was scheduled for another meniscus surgery. Thankfully I cancelled the surgery, because after just a few months of treatment I was able to play every sport I thought I would never do again (tennis, paddle tennis, running, boot camp, boxing). He is able to treat the whole body with his wealth of knowledge and his uncanny ability to figure out the problem(s). Most importantly, he is kind and does what is best for each of his patients, even if means referring them to a different type of doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Boisvert and urge you to visit him if you have injuries or pain, and definitely before you commit to surgery. I have referred numerous friends and family members to Dr. Boisvert and they have all been completely thrilled with the results from his traditional and non-traditional Chiropractic treatments. My whole family sees him regularly, and our nickname for him is The Genius.

I was referred to Dr. B by a co-worker who knew I was suffering from back pain due to an accident I experienced while in the army. Dr. B gave me a thorough initial exam and then we discussed what the treatment would be like, the timeframe of recovery, frequency of visits, costs, etc. I was skeptical that I would see much improvement but agreed to come back for treatment. Within a month, I began to see noticeable improvement. Not long thereafter, I stopped thinking about my back entirely.

Since then, Dr. B has helped me recover from numerous sports-related injuries (tendinitis, muscle strains & pulls, etc) and referred me elsewhere when necessary. Dr. B's treatment has kept me healthy and able to enjoy an extremely active lifestyle.

On top of it all, I enjoy my visits to his office. He has a wealth of knowledge on wellness & nutrition and I always learn something during treatment.

-Kevin Coughlin

This is going to be a long review because I have been seeking treatment with Dr. Boisvert for a long time. Also, I think my experience will be relevant for a lot of people and I consistently ask myself why so few are talking about or doing what he is doing.

I have sought treatment with Dr. Boisvert for a number of conditions and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has treated me both as a high school athlete and now as an active adult. Before I started treatment with Dr. Boisvert, I struggled with repeated quad and hamstring injuries for 4-5 years as a high school athlete. I had a high rate of re-injury to the same areas despite traditional physical therapy strengthening and stretching protocols (I was always very thorough and patient in my rehab process). Post-treatment I have not injured those areas since.

I also suffered an acute back spasm while lifting three days before a high school football game. It left me in excruciating pain and barely able to walk. I sought treatment with him the next day and was immediately pain free. I somehow went on to play the entire game without issue. Normally this would have been something that might have sidelined me for the season. This is just one of the many mini "miracles" I have seen him work.

As an adult, I now live in Denver and regularly run, ski, and train. I will travel from Denver to seek treatment with Dr. Boisvert because I have been unable to find someone as effective anywhere else. I have since sought treatment for muscle pulls in my back (from lifting), groin (from sprinting) and tendonitis in my achilles region (created significant pain while running), among a number of other injuries. He has successfully resolved all of those issues and I continue to be extremely active pain and injury free.

I just want to say I have tried A LOT of other physical therapists / chiropractors in other places I have lived, but I have never encountered anyone as helpful or knowledgeable as Dr. Boisvert. His understanding of the human body is quite astounding (and I consider myself a fairly educated consumer). His approach is unique. What I have come to appreciate about it is that it is highly personalized, holistic, and treats the root cause of my symptoms. In addition to our in-office sessions, he will give me helpful guidance on recovery timelines, when, how and how much I can push myself post-injury/treatment, and simple effective stretching/strengthening protocols that complement his in-office treatment. He has great bedside manner and is always eager and willing to spend extra time with me in an effort to be thorough and answer my questions. When I can make the time to see Dr. Boisvert, it gives me an incredible amount of confidence in KNOWING that with his help I will get better, even if it takes some time.

I cannot recommend him highly enough for any musculoskeletal problem. The world needs more providers like Dr. Boisvert!

-Dave Shapiro

I cannot recommend Dr. Boisvert highly enough. I've been seeing Dr. Boisvert for many years for hip/shoulder and other musculoskeletal injuries. I was a former hockey / football player with a slew of injuries and found Dr. Boisvert as a result of past treatments, ranging from surgical intervention, post-surgical physical therapy, to acupuncture, to injections, falling short. Dr. Boisvert's expertise and highly-skilled treatment approach took me, from a stiff, limited, and chronically painful place after 7 hip / shoulder surgeries, to running, biking, and living an active lifestyle. After moving out of the Boston area I searched everywhere for someone doing Graston / ART / other Chiropractic techniques at the level of Dr. Boisvert, and came up empty handed. Instead, I commute from North Carolina to Boston for treatment when I can.

-Robert Shapiro

I have been seeing Dr. Boisvert for quite a few years now. When I first went in I had a chronic back injury that other treatments had been unable to fix; I had started to believe that it would never go away completely and I would just be “managing” it for the rest of my life. However Dr. Boisvert was highly recommended to me by other patients so I decided to try treatment. After seeing him for a few weeks, he was able to address the root cause of the injury and build my body back up to fully functional. This is the refreshing approach he takes with his patients as opposed to just pain management and treating symptoms. Since then I have returned for countless tweaks that have nagged at my body from various sports/weight lifting/chronic use injuries and he has never let me down. I cannot recommend Dr. Boisvert highly enough.

Bedford Chiropractic has dramatically improved my quality of life.

I began to have hip and lower back pain in high school. The problems continued off and on through playing college football and a reasonably active lifestyle. The situation deteriorated through my 30’s. I had a program of stretching which helped and had a couple hydrocortisone shots which would help for a short time, but were not a long term solution.

As a real estate developer, many of our meetings are done at job sites, standing up and often standing on hard surfaces for extended periods. At the end of these meetings, I often had difficulty getting into the car due to the pain in my hip and lower back. By the time I was in my mid-forties, I was pretty convinced that I was going to have to have my hips replaced.

A family member suggested Bedford Chiropractic. I had never been to a chiropractor, but decided that I would do everything they suggested and see if the situation could be improved without surgery.

Initially I was getting treatment once a week, starting with my lower back and working out from there. While some of the treatments were uncomfortable, it was pretty easy to tell that things were improving. I started going twice a week for about 18 months in an effort to advance the treatment more quickly and get through the initial pain relief. For the last several years, I have been going once a week to make sure any issues which crop up are dealt with quickly before they turn into more serious problems.

Over the time I have been a patient, I have been treated for my neck and elbow as well as my hips and back. I always felt that if you had a stiff neck or muscle tightness in your lower back that you just took Advil and suffered for a week and it would go away. David Boisvert is able to either eliminate or greatly reduce the discomfort of these flare ups in one appointment.

It is impossible to overstate how much Bedford Chiropractic has helped me. My hips and back feel as good or better than they did when I was in my twenties. My flexibility is also as good as it was a long time ago. Now that I am in my 50’s, I look around and it is easy to see which people are able to continue to be active and which are not able to do the things they could just a couple of years ago.

I cannot recommend Bedford Chiropractic strongly enough.

-Sam Wolff

I am a duathlete, triathlete and runner for over 25 years, now in my early fifties. I have raced hard as an amateur in 6 world championships and won a bronze medal for Duathlon World's. Racing hard and training for these events creates overuse injuries and scar tissue. David Boisvert understands how to break down damaged tissue so it can regenerate. I've been to all the top therapeutic specialists with limited results. Bedford Chiropractic has given me the best results in healing my chronic issues and enabled me to continue competing. Because David is an athlete himself, he understands how the muscles work together and compensate thereby navigating the most challenging sports related injuries. I highly recommend Dr. Boisvert for his expertise in Graston and sports therapy.

-Don A.

I have a sedentary office job (and I'm in my mid 50's). I suffered from severe pain in my left hip which became worse over time and was causing me to be unable to sit for long without constantly moving around trying to get comfortable. I never even wanted to go in my car for more than 5 minutes because I knew I would be in discomfort. Finally the pain was creeping into my lower back and causing spasms. I kept thinking it would go away and thought I was just too busy and broke to seek help. Finally, I knew I needed to get some help because the frequency and duration of pain was increasing. I was strongly recommended by two of my friends to go see Dr. Boisvert because they had great success in his care. Once Dr. Boisvert and I agreed to a course of action, we stuck with the plan and the results have given me back a pain free existence. My spine is more flexible than ever...I'm enjoying exercising and yoga again without hesitation and I can even sit still in the car without pain. I need to get up periodically and move around but that's enough to help me get through the day without pain. I have more energy and I'm sleeping better. The investment of both time and money was worth everything and was the best gift I could have ever given myself. I feel like I have my body and life back!

-Joyce E.

It's really difficult for me to fully sum up just how much Dr. Boisvert has helped me. I injured my upper back when I was only fifteen, and over the years, despite seeing numerous doctors and physical therapists, the pain and knotting continued to worsen. I could not do any of the things I always enjoyed growing up like going camping, biking, ice skating, or playing sports. In fact, I eventually found it hard to sit or stand for long periods of time and even simple household chores were out of the question; activities like these would increase my pain for days. By nineteen, I was terrified that I would be in pain and inactive for the rest of my life. That's when I started going to Bedford Chiropractic and everything changed. Dr. Boisvert recognized right away what was going on in my back and how to fix it. He immediately started breaking up the scar tissue that I had built up over the years and explained to me how scar tissue can be broken up and dissolved. He also used trigger point therapy, rewriting how my back "thought" and functioned. then, as I healed, he gave me a simple series of exercises to do to strengthen myself so I could be strong and active again and not re-injure myself. Not only is Dr. Boisvert a superb chiropractor, he is also a pretty cool person. Unlike many other doctors, he really gets to know his patients and genuinely cares about each one. Plus it's obvious that he really loves his work because often when I've asked him a question about chiropractic science he finishes his answer with, "Isn't that cool?!!" Since I first went to Bedford Chiropractic a little over a year ago, my back has completely turned around. I'm no longer in pain, and I'm active again. And most importantly, I can confidently feel like I have an active and pain-free future ahead of me. So, thank you Bedford Chiropractic and especially thank you, Dr. Boisvert, for helping me get my life back.

-Diana J.

I was referred to Dr. Boisvert after my 14 year professional hockey career for the Boston Bruins and the Hartford Whalers ended with back surgery. Needless to say I had a long road to recovery and couldn't have gotten back on my feet without the help of Dr. Boisvert. He had broken down years of scar tissue in a matter of weeks, erasing chronic pain and stiffness while increasing flexibility. I would enthusiastically recommend Bedford Chiropractic to anyone suffering from back/neck or hip pain.

-Ted C.

I came to Dr. Boisvert in 1993 after seeing several other health care professionals about chronic pain and weakness in my left leg. A number of those professionals treated me, sometimes for extended periods, to no avail. I was very dispirited about this ailment that had resisted treatment. It severely curtailed my participation in athletics, which was particularly troubling because sports and athletics have been central to my life. Dr. Boisvert immediately diagnosed my condition calling it very unusual and advanced. He was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful with explanations, and very patient. The condition lessened and ultimately was eliminated under his care. As a converted skeptic, I consider Dr. Boisvert to be my lead ally in my quest for optimal health, preventive care, and an active lifestyle. I have referred every friend and associate who has complained of back pain or other skeletomuscular pain or weakness to him with the utmost confidence that they will be as pleased and well cared for as I have been. Dr. Boisvert has been the primary medical professional who has treated me through a number of sports injuries. It is not an exaggeration to say that without him, my health and lifestyle would have suffered dramatically.

-Michele S.

Dr. Boisvert is extremely knowledgeable, and has helped me return to the activities that I love after years of being significantly limited due to back pain, or as it turns out, SI joint pain and some arthritis. He has used a combination of adjustments and Graston technique to change my body, help it heal and allow me to train more effectively. For more than 5 years, I could barely stand for more than 5-10 minutes or walk a few hundred yards without being in pain and having to sit down. I had given up all sports and many basic social activities. The change was gradual, but I avoided surgery and drugs, and have seen much longer term improvement than I did with injections, PT and other treatments. I’m now 55 and I am jogging 15-20 miles per week, playing tennis and skiing regularly. I still have some episodes of pain and may occasionally do something to cause my body to guard or lock up a bit, but I usually rebound within a day, and he can always work out any issues. I highly recommend seeing him. Just be patient and committed to reclaiming your healthy lifestyle. He will be honest about your situation and explain how and if he will be able to help you.

-James McGeady

Dr. Boisvert and his staff are nothing short of exceptional. The attention to detail, holistic care, and multi-faceted approach to treatment and recovery is unmatched. Dr. Boisvert is not only an expert in his field, but he also has compassion for his patients that has blown me away. I cannot thank this team enough. My experience here has been life changing, truly!

-Nicole Nordlie

I came in to see Dr. Boisvert as a very stiff and rather hopeless 55 year old woman. I attributed my back pain and lack of flexibility to my age and assumed that this was what aging was going to be like. Wow, was I wrong! After the very first session I felt lighter and more flexible and after later treatments I felt like I could skip down the hall. Dr. Boisvert is really gifted at chiropractic medicine and fine tunes his treatment to what each patient needs. He has also done fabulous work on my two teenage daughters who sustained shoulder problems from playing sports. He has helped them recover and is working on exercises with them to prevent further problems. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Boisvert!

-Michele F.

I came to Dr. Boisvert due to back issues stemming from competition as a rower in high school. Working with him allowed me to continue my rowing career at Harvard University as a varsity athlete on the Lightweight Crew team, where his knowledge and expertise kept me healthy and allowed me to compete with great success. I've since transitioned to competing for the US National Rowing Team and am currently a member of the USA Olympic Crew Team. Without his care I never would have been able to pursue athletics at even a collegiate level, much less an international one as a member of the USA 2012 Olympic Crew Team. His skill has allowed me to deal with a succession of physical issues as they've arisen to the point where my body has held up incredibly well under rigorous training far removed from his office, at the US Olympic Training Center in San Diego!  I'm incredibly grateful for the time he's spend with me.

I've been rowing for 8 years, starting in high school and continuing at a DI University and on the Under-23 National Team. I first approached Dr. Boisvert in high school after experiencing lower back pains bad enough to prevent me from walking. I had been suffering with lower back pain for over three years. My doctor had authorized two rounds of intensive physical therapy and neither alleviated any of the back pain. My friend suggested seeing Dr. Boisvert but I had never been to a chiropractor and was afraid to have someone "crack" my back. I checked with my doctor and he said that there had been some success with chiropractic treatment for lower back pain. In my case this turned out to be the understatement of the year. I took the plunge and within 3 months the pain was greatly reduced and my flexibility had improved. I could do things like shovel snow and lift packages with no problem. When my shoulder "froze" a couple of years later I first tried two round of physical therapy, again with no success. I could not even bend my arm to reach my back pocket without pain. Finally, the physical therapist told me there was nothing more he could do and that I may need an MRI and possibly surgery for bone spurs. I told Dr. Boisvert and he recommended that he administer a treatment program called the Graston technique. It uses metal instruments that deep massage the affected areas coupled with gradual stretching to regain the range of motion. Again it worked and within about 4 months I could reach anywhere without pain. Dr. Boisvert does not push treatments that he does not feel have a good chance of success. I am on a regular maintenance program for my back and shoulder and feel great. I wholeheartedly recommend that you consult with Dr. Boisvert and Bedford Chiropractic for any aches and pains you may have.

-Lloyd S.

I have been to chiropractors on and off since the early 1960s. I first went to Dr. Boisvert roughly 18 years ago when I was in need of a chiropractor in the Bedford area. In these 18 years he has consistently provided me with immediate relief at a moment's notice for neck and back pain that had been issues for over 30 years. So when I moved to Rhode Island 9 years ago I never for one moment considered locating a chiropractor closer to  home. Every 2 to 3 weeks I make the trip from Rhode Island to Bedford because under no circumstances do I want to even consider another chiropractor other than Dr. Boisvert. Almost 3 years ago I had surgery for cancer that caused significant stress and pain on my lower back. I cannot put into words how much I appreciated Dr. Boisvert's efforts and treatments that erased the pain. I feel extremely fortunate that Dr. Boisvert is there for me.

-Steve T.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Boisvert. Simply; without his knowledge and care, I would not physically be as happy as I am! I am a Masters ski racer, and that takes its toll. There are the typical bumps and bruises associated with the sport, but I have also had an ACL reconstruction, ripped calf muscles, bruised ribs, and stiff necks. Dr. Boisvert has allowed me to recover faster and more completely, which allows me to get back to the sport I love not only quicker but with the confidence that I am 100%! His expertise in modalities such as Active Release Therapy and Graston Technique are indispensable. Combine this with his use of chiropractic treatments and an amazing understanding of the musculoskeletal system and you are in some of the best hands in the health care profession. He is an athlete himself, and knows the strains the body takes, and therefore how to heal it! I highly recommend Dr. Boisvert.

-Jessie M.

At just 30 years old, I stumbled into Dr. Boisvert's office with chronic piriformis pain and sciatic nerve related issues that had affected my left leg for over four years. Years of competitive running at a high mileage collegiate program, and haphazard training post-college had left me with muscle imbalances and an elaborate build-up of scar tissue that took the enjoyment out of running for me entirely. I had constant and severe burning in my piriformis just sitting watching a movie, flying on a plane, and commuting to and from work, as well as a slew of lower-leg injuries that resulted from the problem in the hip and glute area. Frustrated and having exhausted literally thousands of dollars worth of physical therapy, including consistent ART and deep tissue massage - I was getting nowhere. Being extremely well connected working in the running shoe industry, I have been referred to all sorts of avenues for help, some who told me my piriformis problems were irreversible. I can say Dr. Boisvert is the first and only medical professional to really help me, and help me in a sustainable way that gets to the root of the problem. He is not only thorough and calculated in his treatments, but explains the nature of his process - why one area and not the other and why patience and a pattern to the Graston technique is crucial in long-term healing. I've been amazed how areas of my left leg - my soleus and calf muscle especially, consistently improve with work and relief to the hip and glute area. Dr. Boisvert's has truly allowed me to not only stop dreading, but to enjoy running again.

-Claire W.

My condition began about 5 years ago with painful muscle spasms and weakening in my left arm and shoulder. I could no longer enjoy tennis or swim for any length of time as it would result in excruciating pain. A cervical MRI suggested a pinched nerve as probable cause. Over the last few years I had seen various medical care specialists and found temporary relief with the use of anti-inflammatory medication and physical therapy. I began seeing Dr. Boisvert about 2 months ago on the enthusiastic recommendation of a fellow tennis player. Her exact words were - "If there is anyone that can help you it is Dr. Boisvert." I love tennis and my biggest fear was not returning to the tennis court - so, I heeded her advice and made an appointment to see Dr. Boisvert. At my first examination he was candid and did not promise any miracle cure. I liked that honesty and immediately felt that I should put my skepticism aside and open my mind to chiropractic treatment. Dr. Boisvert outlined a wellness approach (or in his words "using the natural ability of the body to heal") to help restore muscle strength and optimal innervation of my left arm/shoulder. He used the Graston technique where a metal instrument was used to break scar tissue along with deep tissue massage. Within a couple weeks I began to notice and improvement and have now slowly returned to physical activity and working out 2-3 times a week. I have wholeheartedly embraced this approach to healing and have even recommended Dr. Boisvert to my minister who is suffering from lower back pain. Dr. Boisvert brings his vast knowledge and experience to addressing problems. He offers sound advice and brings a relaxed manner to his practice. If you have an ailment that has bothered you for a while do make an appointment to consult with him - he is at the top of his profession and a whole new "natural" approach to healing could open up for you.

In my third trimester of pregnancy, I started getting some terrible pains in my lower back and left leg. It hurt so badly that I could hardly walk. My doctor recommended that I go see a chiropractor. I was a bit skeptical as I had never visited one before, but the agony was so severe that I was willing to try pretty much anything. After my first week of seeing Dr. Boisvert, I was already feeling greatly improved. I couldn't believe how easily he could detect exactly the spots that were hurting me even without me telling him and reduce the issues I was experiencing. In fact, within a few weeks, I hardly felt any pain at all. During the remaining months of my pregnancy, problems would sometimes flair up depending on what was happening with my body at the time. However, seeing Dr. Boisvert on a regular basis, practicing the stretches he recommended, and following his advice meant that the discomfort I experienced was minimal and instead of feeling pain, I could spend energy focusing on the beautiful baby boy who was about to enter my life.

-Holly C.

Following my regular work out just after Labor Day, my right shoulder, which had never bothered me before, became very painful. The pain increased over the next two weeks to the point of my not being able to open a door or lift a gallon of milk. My husband urged me to go see Dr. Boisvert because of the success he had had in treating him for various sports related injuries. I was hesitant and delayed for several weeks, unconvinced that chiropractic care would be of any help. Then came the day when I could no longer lift my arm to put my car in drive. Dr. Boisvert diagnosed me with a torn rotator cuff and began treatment on that first visit. I experienced some immediate pain relief. Two months later, with visits twice weekly, I am pain free, back to my regular workout regime and on the paddle tennis courts. Had I opted for a surgical repair, I am quite sure I would not be anywhere close to where I am today. Although I was skeptical at the outset, Dr. Boisvert's treatment of my shoulder has been just short of magical and I wholly credit him for what has been an amazing recovery.

-Lynn B.

I went to acupuncture, physical therapy and had three cortisone shots from my Orthopedic Surgeon for elbow tendinitis. Nothing worked. For two years I was unable to golf or lift weights, and had constant pain in my elbow. A friend recommended I contact Dr. Boisvert for a chiropractic consultation. Dr. Boisvert had previously treated similar elbow injuries and explained to me the process for recovery. In three months the pain has gone away. Dr. Boisvert not  only treated the injury but took steps to ensure that the tendinitis would not return. He is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and passionate about his care. He is now my primary resource for wellness and sports injury treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Boisvert for any chiropractic needs.

-Mike D.

As a high school and college athlete there is no chiropractor that I would recommend seeing in the Boston Area other than Dr. Boisvert. In October of 2008 I injured my back in an off-season hockey game. With a varsity soccer game just three days away, Dr. Boisvert worked miracles. When I arrived in his office I could barely walk. Dr. Boisvert quickly identified the problem area of my back, made several adjustments and calmly talked me through the process while he worked so that I felt comfortable. Three days later I was back on the soccer pitch and performing at 100%. One year later, I had a very similar back issue. Dr. Boisvert once again utilized his extensive knowledge base to quickly identify and correct the issue. At this point, I was an adamant supporter of Dr. Boisvert and his work. In August of 2010, I left to play lacrosse and hockey at Vanderbilt University. I recently completed my sophomore year at Vanderbilt and after two full seasons on the hockey rink and lacrosse field I was experiencing severe neck pain. With no hesitation I saw Dr. Boisvert. I was not the least bit surprised to leave his office twenty minutes later feeling infinitely better. If you are a high school athlete, Dr. Boisvert will work wonders. If you are a college athlete, Dr. Boisvert will work wonders. Even if you are neither a high school or college athlete, Dr. Boisvert will treat you with the utmost respect and handle your situation with professionalism and expertise. If you seek results, seek out Dr. Boisvert. I would be shocked to find a more effective chiropractor in the entire Boston area.

I had never been to a chiropractor before, but after several bouts of intermittent neck pain hadn't been resolved with massage and pain medication, a recommendation from a friend sent me to Dr. Boisvert. I was surprised to find that chiropractic care involves more than just "cracking bones." Dr. Boisvert was careful to explain precisely what was happening in the small muscles along my spine and what problems were specifically contributing to my pain. Furthermore, he explained how each step of the treatment process would work to bring about pain relief. Not only has his technique helped to resolve my neck pain, but I've also found that I've gained flexibility and general range of motion in my hips. Dr. Boisvert has also helped to resolve my intense and chronic headaches. I couldn't be happier with his treatment!

I began seeing Dr. Boisvert in the spring of 2010 following a fractured fibula in my right ankle the previous summer. Despite many other attempts to rehab the ankle I was reaching a point where I was unable to run or do many activities without some level of pain. After a recommendation from a colleague of mine I visited Dr. Boisvert. He began to rehabilitate me by analyzing my situation and using  Graston techniques, which he explained to me very well. I really enjoy the more technical and anatomical conversations that we have and in addition they help me to understand the process my body is going through to heal and return to normal function. But above all is Dr. Boisvert's ability to understand my situation. He understood that I still wanted to compete in athletics and that just getting by would not be a good enough answer, which is what I was hearing from many doctors and PTs. Almost instantly I was noticing incredible results. I was back in form in time for the triathlon season. Since then I have completed dozens of races with this past season ending with my first full Ironman distance. I can honestly say that without the help of Dr. Boisvert I would not have been able to compete in the sport of triathlon. I am so grateful and convinced of his abilities that I have recommended him to many of my friends who also are not willing to take no for an answer.

During last years' varsity hockey season at Tufts University, I sustained a double concussion.  For seven months I battled headaches and other concussion symptoms with no relief.  I spent many days in bed and missed out on an entire season.  When I came to Dr. Boisvert he was able to help relieve my neck pain which was contributing to my headaches.  After two months of being treated by Dr. Boisvert I have returned to working out and playing sports. The Graston Technique therapy was incredibly beneficial.  Though I will not return to full contact hockey, Dr. Boisvert allowed me to get back to my normal way of life!

-Jon S.

I came to Dr. Boisvert with an injured groin one week before my high school hockey tryouts. In my initial hockey practices I could barely skate because the pain was so bad. In one week of intensive ART treatment, my injury was significantly better and I was able to skate with virtually no pain. Dr. Boisvert also identified that an old hamstring injury was partially causing my groin issues. He treated both injuries and got me back on the ice faster than I could have imagined. Since then he has continued to treat my groin to make sure the injury does not occur again. I am truly thankful for Dr. Boisvert's expertise and highly recommend him for any sports injuries.

I used to be a National Archery Champion (Male Modern Longbow 2003), and suffered an elbow injury. I thought it would get better by itself, but it actually went in a downward spiral, until eventually I had to give up archery, and even had trouble squeezing a tube of toothpaste! I went to an orthopedic surgeon who gave me and MRI and sent me to a hand surgeon. Luckily I ran into Dr. Boisvert, who mentioned that he doesn't just help with backs and necks, but also can treat certain sports injuries. After about 4 months of progressive treatment, I am back to doing archery again. Thank you Dr. B!!!

After my second knee surgery, my orthopedic surgeon suggested i not run again due to the chronic pain and soreness in my knee. This was devastating news to a lifelong runner so I tried physical therapy and acupuncture. Nothing seemed to work until I visited Dr. David Boisvert to see if there was a chiropractic solution for my knee. Three months later, I am back running. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for the knowledge and skill of Dr. Boisvert. As a runner himself, Dr. Boisvert understood my desire to run again and implemented a chiropractic approach that met my personal needs. I would highly recommend Dr. Boisvert and Bedford Chiropractic for anyone suffering knee pain that wants to get back to an active lifestyle.

I am a member of the Varsity Women's Lacrosse team at Amherst College and had tendonitis in my knee that, despite extensive physical therapy, kept me from playing during much of my sophomore year. I came to see Dr. Boisvert at the end of the season and his use of the Graston Technique, chiropractic adjustments, Active Release Therapy (ART), and strengthening exercises have allowed me to compete at my best once again. Dr. Boisvert was the only doctor I saw that took initiative in healing my knee instead of telling me that tendonitis can't be cured and just takes time. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of my experiences with Dr. Boisvert is trust. I trust that he is completely invested in helping me and his other patients stay healthy. His wide range of expertise allows him to apply the best practice for a diversity of ailments, but he does not hesitate to refer you to an expert in a different field if necessary. He is dedicated, thorough, and honest, and I highly recommend him to anyone.

When I think of Dr. David Boisvert, three words come to mind…impact, demeanor & reputation. Dr. Boisvert was able to utilize his tremendous set of skills, from years of training and building an impressive practice, to have a significant impact on our son's recovery from a torn meniscus after surgery. This enabled Sam to get back on the field, and gradually rehabilitate the knee and surrounding muscles/tendons faster than we previously thought possible. He rejoined the team, gradually at first, to a near full recover less than 10 weeks after surgery. Perhaps equally important, was his demeanor, which put Sam at ease, and instilled confidence in our son in a way that gave him optimism throughout the process, and control over his recovery. Finally, and we believe most important, Dr. Boisvert's reputation preceded him; and then, our experience of his knowledge, skills and attitude far exceeded the high expectations we had going in from friends' recommendations. This was exemplified by our initial visit to his office, just after the soccer injury in June, when Dr. Boisvert looked at the MRI, did his own evaluation of the knee, and made the recommendation that Sam first go ahead with the surgery, as being recommended by two of the top Sports Orthopedics in the area, and then, if desired, comeback to Dr. Boisvert's office for treatment after initial Physical Therapy common to post-surgical procedure. This reinforced his reputation even further, as it demonstrated a level of credibility that he was willing to defer his own treatment for what was best for our son, as he believed surgery was the best decision and beyond his ability to treat the torn meniscus initially. We have been going to Dr. Boisvert weekly since PT concluded, and it has definitely accelerated the recovery period and strengthening of key muscles/tendons around the knee, allowing Sam to practice and play throughout the remainder of the soccer season and into the State tournament. We whole-heartedly recommend Dr. David Boisvert without hesitation; in fact, I am starting my treatment this month for lower-back/sacroiliac pain with full optimism that his skills with the Graston Technique and other chiropractic treatment will have a similar impact on what has become a chronic pain that I had previously given up hope would ever get better.

I was referred to Dr. Boisvert ("Miracle Man") in 2011 while dealing with chronic calf muscle strains and pulls in my right leg that prevented me from participating in sporting activities (tennis, paddle tennis, running). Within weeks Dr. Boisvert had broken down decades of scar tissue and tightness through his Graston Technique practice. Two years later my left calf acted up and again after weeks of treatment my calf was completely healed. Dr. Boisvert takes a personal interest in ensuring you make a full recovery. I highly recommend Bedford Chiropractic to anyone dealing with an injury of any kind.

I had been dealing with back pain for years. While I am just 35 and in generally good health, years of flying helicopters in the Army paid a toll on me. I could not stand still for long periods of time, could not comfortable ride in the car for extended stretches, and had very poor flexibility in my lower back and hips. Dr. B recognized this right away. He was able to explain my symptoms to me without me having to tell him! During my first visit, he meticulously described the make up of my back and how he could help me. He did not make extraordinary claims or speak in hyperbole. Rather, he very confidently told me that he felt he could undo some of the damage that had been done to my back and get me back to enjoying the active lifestyle that I prefer. Over the course of the past three months, we have made tremendous progress with my back. It does not hamper me the way it used to. I have been amazed at my levels of flexibility and comfort. I am able to perform exercises in the gym that I had not been able to comfortably do for many years. Treatment with Dr. B is not only effective but enjoyable. He always has a positive attitude. It is easy to see that he takes great pleasure in helping people live active, comfortable lives. Deciding to see Dr. B was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Thank you Dr. B!

I was a D1 Athlete, hurt my back badly squatting. Unable to walk, run, bike or stand. Went to ER 3 times and PT and nothing could help. Dr. Boisvert fixed my back, and continues to help keep me incredibly mobile. If you are an athlete and need help...GO HERE.

I am a life long soccer player, now the oldest member of my over-50 team. After so many sprains and injuries, my ankles, achilles and calves had seized up and I could barely run. I was losing my ability to compete and was getting less and less playing time. Dr. Boisvert diagnosed my condition, and was able to describe the great extent of the injuries, and the treatment that it would take to recover. After months of steady treatment, I improved slowly but surely, and am now back at the top of my game, and getting as much playing time as I want! Dr. Boisvert has really saved my athletic hobbies and I can't thank him enough. He is a thinking man's orthopedic therapist, and I have referred many of my soccer friends to him, with great results.

I have suffered from back pain for years. After becoming a nurse, my back pain became increasingly problematic from the physical demands of my job. I tried exercise, physical therapy and massage but these treatments only offered temporary relief. After having my son, my back pain increased in intensity and started affecting my daily life. I had often thought about Chiropractic care but was nervous to try it, with the preconceived idea that it would be too aggressive and potentially dangerous. Finally desperate, I found Dr. Boisvert from a recommendation of a friend. He quickly identified the problem causing my pain and set an appropriate treatment plan that provided immediate relief. His treatment techniques are gentle, yet effective, and he offers thorough explanations of his treatment techniques so that I am well informed. I am so grateful for the relief he has given me. I am always saying "I wish I had found him sooner."

-Leah K.

I'm a 40+ year old male and pulled a muscle in my thigh in April of 2013. After ten months of treatment at another facility my leg was not much improved. I still had pain and couldn't resume my normal athletic activities. I was frustrated at the lack of progress. A friend suggested I see Dr. Boisvert and I sure am glad I did. Dr. Boisvert used a special technique on my leg, and after just a few treatments my leg felt much better -- so much so that I was able to enjoy a ski trip out west! I've been going for treatment for several months now and my leg feels fine. I have resumed all my activities (skiing, basketball, soccer, etc.) and have no pain. I wish I had seen Dr. Boisvert right after my injury as I could have enjoyed those activities a lot sooner!

-Adam S.

Previous to visiting Dr. Boisvert a physiotherapist had given me a wedge for my shoe as one leg was shorter than the other. After Dr. Boisvert's treatment my muscles loosened and I no longer needed the booster in my shoe. This story is evidence that Dr. Boisvert looks to cure the underlying problems rather than work on a quick fix. My lower back and hip issues got so bad that it prevented me from doing any sport. Through Dr. Boisvert's work on my muscles and advice on how to progress with running/walking and stretches after my exercise I was able to get back to playing soccer and running with a freedom of movement that I had not experienced for a number of years. As a soccer player I was keen to get back to playing as quickly as possible. Dr. Boisvert understands this and advised on how many minutes playing time I should do, then worked on any problems that may have cropped up, advising whether to ease back or increase my activities. It's very easy to do too much too soon once you are feeling better but Dr. Boisvert's advice has let me play for longer without problems rather than having major set backs which has been my experience in the past.

-Mick K.

When I first visited Dr. Boisvert, I was in bad shape. I had been suffering from chronic neck and lower back pain for years. In addition, for the past 8 years, I've been suffering from chronic bilateral Achilles tendinosis. Before visiting Dr. Boisvert I tried many methods to reduce the pain but nothing was a long-term solution. After several months of treatment with Dr. Boisvert, including the Graston Technique, Active Release Therapy, and chiropractic adjustments, my pain has been significantly reduced. I have never visited a doctor that has dedicated more attention and care than Dr. Boisvert. He never makes me feel rushed. He always explains every technique before, during, and after treatment. He encourages questions and more importantly, he listens to every concern I have and makes sure I understand every part of the process. For anyone suffering from chronic pain, I highly recommend Dr. Boisvert and Bedford Chiropractic.

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "It's really difficult for me to fully sum up just how much Dr. Boisvert has helped me. I injured my upper back when I was only fifteen, and over the years, despite seeing numerous doctors and physical therapists, the pain and knotting continued to worsen. By nineteen, I was terrified that I would be in pain and inactive for the rest of my life. That's when I started going to Bedford Chiropractic and everything changed. Unlike many other doctors, he really gets to know his patients and genuinely cares about each one. Since I first went to Bedford Chiropractic a little over a year ago, my back has completely turned around. I'm no longer in pain, and I'm active again. And most importantly, I can confidently feel like I have an active and pain-free future ahead of me. So, thank you Bedford Chiropractic and especially thank you, Dr. Boisvert, for helping me get my life back."
